Want More Women in Science? Start Early And Listen To Girls
Middle school student Sriya decided to take on this challenge. According to Sriya, “When the coronavirus pandemic shut down my school, I found myself stuck at home with nothing but my computer as company. Luckily, as a 14-year old STEM aficionado and introvert, this was all I needed. I found the large amounts of time on my hands to be the perfect opportunity to meet my goal of working to close the gender gap in STEM.

Received a $5,000 grant & scholarship and an invitation to participate in the Prudential Emerging Visionaries Summit in Newark, NJ. Featured on the Times Square Billboard in New York City.

Man turns tragedy into kindness movement
The Call for Kindness gives teens ages 13–19 the opportunity to create concrete change in their communities. Thirty projects were selected to be awarded up to $3,000 each for community projects that embody the Riley’s Way values of kindness, empathy, leadership, and connection-making. In addition to funding, the teens will take part in our leadership development fellowship, where they will learn from mentors and each other.

National Council Delegates are the conduit between GSHNJ and the National Board of Directors of Girl Scouts of the USA. As a delegate or alternate, you have a responsibility to be knowledgeable about Girl Scouts and GSHNJ, actively engage with your constituents, and liaise with GSHNJ staff and Board of Directors to influence the strategic direction of our council. National Council Delegates over the age of 18 are voting members of the council. National Council Alternate Delegates share the same responsibilities of National Council Delegates, but do not vote unless promoted to a Delegate position.
